Our work focuses on improving material efficiency, lowering dependence on high-emission inputs and strengthening process performance without compromising product quality or application benefits. During the year, we continued to improve the scattering efficiency of rutile-grade titanium dioxide, which helps reduce cradle-to-gate carbon footprint. We also advanced cementitious product development with a focus on lower carbon footprint and lower water demand. The resin synthesis and product development teams collaborated to reduce the solvent footprint in the enamel range. These efforts support resource efficiency, lower processing intensity and improved product performance across relevant categories.
GHG footprint reduction through formulation optimisation in FY 2025-26
| Metric | Target 2030 | Performance in FY 2025-26 |
|---|---|---|
| GHG footprint reduction through formulation optimisation (tCO2e) | Cumulative reduction of 1,20,000 from FY 2022-23 | Cumulative reduction of 1,39,013 from FY 2022-23 |
During the year, newer areas were identified to further embed sustainability into product development and upgrades. These included improving dispersion efficiency through alternate processing routes, developing waterproofing solutions for high-damp surfaces and evaluating innovative grinding aids for clinker grinding to support lower-impact cementitious products.
Select initiatives have contributed to reduced processing time, lower water demand and energy savings, while supporting product performance and application reliability.
